A series of bioactive quinazolinones were effectively synthesized by the condensation of halide benzamide with amino acid using magnetically recyclable GO/Fe3O4–CuI as catalyst. Magnetic GO/Fe3O4–CuI was prepared via a simple chemical method and characterized by FTIR, powder XRD, and SEM. This heterogeneous copper catalyst can be easily separated from reaction mixtures by an external permanent magnet and reused without any obvious loss in activity which shows its applicability as a reusable and promising catalyst for quinazolinones synthesis.A series of bioactive quinazolinones were effectively synthesized by the condensation of halide benzamide with amino acid using magnetically separable and reusable GO/Fe3O4–CuI as catalyst.

The YCl3-catalyzed aerobic oxidative cyclization reaction for the synthesis of benzothiazoles has been developed. This method provides a practical, effective and green synthetic approach to benzothiazoles which are important units in many biologically active compounds. This method provides a practical, effective and green synthetic approach to benzothiazoles which are important units in many biologically active compounds.

In this study, Yb immobilized NaY zeolite catalyst (Yb/NaY) was obtained by a hydrothermal method and characterized by XRD, BET, FT-IR, ICP-AES, and NH3-TPD. The catalyst displayed good catalytic activity when applied to the synthesis of quinoxalines via condensation of α-hydroxyketones with 1,2-diamines, and could be reused several times without any loss of catalytic activity.A recyclable and efficient Yb/NaY zeolite catalyst was obtained for catalyzing the condensation synthesis of quinoxaline. The catalyst gave desired products in good to excellent yields (up to 94%), and could be reused several times without any loss of its catalytic activity.

A simple and efficient synthetic approach to dihydropyrazines via YbCl3-catalyzed reaction of α-hydroxyketones with diamines under mild conditions was developed. The corresponding 2,3-subsitituted piperazines and pyrazines were obtained through tandem conversion of dihydropyrazines with good yields.
